England v New Zealand: Graeme Swann & Tim Bresnan return


England spinner Graeme Swann returns after injury for the first Test against New Zealand at Lord's on Thursday.

The 34-year-old, who has 212 wickets from his 50 Tests, missed the 0-0 draw in New Zealand in the winter with an elbow problem that required surgery.

Tim Bresnan, who also missed the New Zealand tour to have an operation on his elbow, is also in a 12-man squad.

With Kevin Pietersen sidelined for the series by knee trouble, Joe Root is included for his first home series.
