County Championship Round 8 01/06/16

Day 4

Leicestershire 341 v Kent 117-2 (Day 4 washout - match drawn)

Both sides take eight points as the umpires abandon the match at Canterbury just before 13:00 BST, with no play possible since day two. Daniel Bell-Drummond (65) and Sam Northeast (5) are Kent's not out batsmen.

Middlesex 467-3 dec v Hampshire 131 & 220 (Middlesex win by inns and 116 runs)

Hampshire's resistance at Northwood comes to an end as last-man James Tomlinson is caught at slip off spinner Ollie Rayner. Ryan McLaren is left unbeaten on 33, while James Fuller returns figures of 5-70.

Middlesex take 24 points from the game and move up to second in Division One, just a single point behind Durham, pending the outcome of the Roses match at Headingley. Hampshire only collect a solitary point from their second defeat of the summer.

Yorkshire 308 & 236 beat Lancashire 196 & 173 by 175 runs

Very bad timing as Yorkshire have taken the last two Lancashire wickets to wrap up a convincing victory and extend their unbeaten Championship record at Headingley to 20 matches.

Karl Brown was first go, caught at cover off Tim Bresnan, and spinner Adil Rashid then had Kyle Jarvis lbw. He finished with 4-17 from 14.4 overs, while Bresnan claimed 4-36.

The two teams now head the Division One table on 88 points, with Lancashire in first place by virtue of having won one game more. Durham are a point back in third place with Middlesex, who beat Hampshire by an innings earlier today, a further point behind in fourth.

Worcestershire 429 & 239 v Glos 364-6 dec & 320-5 Gloucestershire won by five wickets

Michael Klinger pulls Brett D'Oliveira's second delivery for four. Gloucestershire need one more to win and the Australian needs four for a century. How will he play it now? The answer is emphatic as he lofts a six to reach 102 not out and seal victory for his side.

Jack Taylor finishes on 107 not out, with their unbroken partnership worth 179, and it's only their second Championship win at New Road in 19 visits.
