3rd Test Day 3 PAK V ENG

Stumps report: Pakistan have moved 74 runs in front of England after the third day's play in the final Test in Sharjah. England started the day four down and just 12 shy of the Pakistani total, but they were only able to add 84 runs before being bowled out in the afternoon session with a lead of 72.

Mohammad Hafeez and Azhar Ali nudged Pakistan towards levelling the match before tea and then in the evening it was Hafeez who continued to frustrate England's bowlers.

The opener finished the day on 97 not out, with night-watchman Rahat Ali still waiting to score. England's first wicket of the second innings was a calamitous one from Pakistan's point of view as Hafeez and Azhar got in a mix-up before the latter was run out for 34. James Anderson then got rid of Shoaib Malik for a golden duck before Stuart Broad trapped Younis Khan lbw for 14.

With the light fading Hafeez and Rahat hung on in the closing stages as Pakistan finished the day 146-3.

Tea report: Pakistan have reached 58-0 at tea on day three of the third and final Test against England after bowling the tourists out for 306 in Sharjah. England lost three wickets in the morning session and then three more went for just 21 runs after lunch to leave Alastair Cook's side with a 72-run first-innings lead.

Shoaib Malik finished with four wickets thanks to the dismissals of James Anderson (7) and Ben Stokes (0), while Yasir Shah got the other England wicket after lunch by bowling Samit Patel for 42. At tea, England's lead is down to 14 thanks to the runs of openers Mohammad Hafeez (33) and Azhar Ali (24). The Pakistani batsmen have targeted England's spin bowlers, especially Moeen Ali, who is going at five runs an over.

Lunch report: Pakistan have halted England's progress with the bat by taking three wickets in the morning session of day three in the third and final Test in Sharjah. James Taylor and Jonny Bairstow put on an impressive display to close day two on 222 runs with the loss of four wickets.

However, their partnership came to an end five overs into day three as Taylor was dismissed for 76 off the bowling of Rahat Ali. Sarfraz Ahmed also played a part as he took an impressive low catch to give Pakistan, who currently lead the series 1-0, some momentum.

England were in trouble again when Bairstow was bowled out by Zulfiqar Babar seven runs short of a half-century. On the stroke of lunch, Adil Rashid was removed by Shoaib Malik following a catch from Azhar Ali at short leg. Trevor Bayliss's side trailed by 12 runs before the start of play, but they now have a 51-run lead and sit 285-7. Samit Patel is unbeaten on 41.
