3rd Test Day 4 PAK V ENG

Stumps report: England bowled out Pakistan during the evening session on day four of the third and final Test against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates, which has left Alastair Cook's men a target of 284 runs to win the match and level up the series. Pakistan resumed after tea on 319-8, and they went on to add 36 more runs to that score before Asad Shafiq (46) was bowled by Stuart Broad and Wahab Riaz (21) was run out by a combination of Ian Bell and Jonny Bairstow.

England's run chase got off to a steady start courtesy of Cook and Moeen Ali, but their partnership was broken up with 34 runs on the board when upon review, the latter was given out lbw to Shoaib Malik for 22. The removal of Ali brought Bell to the crease and his negative form of late soon continued when he was bowled for a duck by Malik.

The 33-year-old has now been dismissed for 0 or 1 on nine occasions in 2015, which is the second highest in Test history. Joe Root (6*) came in and survived one lbw scare, but between him and skipper Cook (17*), they got England through to the close of play on 46-2.

As a result, when the two teams return for the final day tomorrow, the tourists require 238 runs to win, while Pakistan need eight wickets.

Tea report: Pakistan have reached tea on day four of the third and final Test against England in Sharjah on 319-8, with a lead of 247 runs.

The Men in Green began the afternoon session on 229-4, looking to increase their lead and take the game out of England's reach. England made the breakthrough not long after lunch as Misbah-ul-Haq was trapped lbw by Stuart Broad for 38. Mohammad Hafeez then brought up his 150, but he could only add one more run to that total as he chipped a Moeen Ali delivery to Ian Bell at long-on, who took the catch. England struggled to continue that momentum, as Asad Shafiq and Sarfraz Ahmed took Pakistan past the 300-run mark, but it was the latter who fell first when he was clean bowled by Samit Patel on 36.

Yasir Shah joined Shafiq in the middle but lasted just 15 balls as he was dismissed by Adil Rashid for four just before the players left the field for tea. Pakistan will resume with Shafiq (30*) and Wahab Riaz in the middle.

Lunch report: Pakistan have managed to recover after losing Rahat Ali to move past 200 and extend their lead to 157 runs in the third and final Test against England in Sharjah. Mohammad Hafeez (145*) and Misbah-ul-Haq (31*) helped Pakistan finish the morning session on 229-4, but they survived some early scares.

Before the first wicket was taken, England appealed an lbw in the first ball of the day when Adil Rashid's delivery hit Hafeez's front pad, but umpire Chris Gaffaney denied the call. England reviewed the decision, but hawk-eye showed that the ball had pitched outside leg stump, allowing Pakistan to breathe.

Trevor Bayliss's side came close again two balls later when Hafeez failed to tackle Rashid's googly, but Jonny Bairstow missed it completely as he failed to get a glove on the ball and hit the stumps. The breakthrough finally came when James Anderson bowled out Rahat Ali for a duck with a reverse ball, giving England some momentum, but they were unable to make the most of it. Hafeez eventually pulled up his ninth Test hundred and Misbah-ul-Haq took Pakistan's run tally past 200 with a thumping six at long-on. Pakistan have a 1-0 lead in the series.
